When is the best time of year to visit Sweden?

When planning a break abroad one always thinks automatically that summer will be the best time to go. While Summer in Sweden offers a whole host of possibilities in terms of activities and sightseeing – Sweden shouldn’t be underestimated in any season! In fact, there are things to do no matter which season you visit in, and different activities to fit any and all tourists!

 

Springtime in Sweden presents all kinds of opportunities for some great sightseeing. You can visit the region of Bohuslan to partake in kayaking, hiking, camping and sailing. You can tour the northern coast from here or you can take a trip out to Langeskar island, famous for boating. Faro is another island sight to see in Springtime, with its unique rock formations known as ‘stacks’ or ‘rauks’. It is well known for once being home to Ingrid Bergman. In the Winter Sweden opens up to a whole world of snow sports. Are is a favourite Ski and Snowboard location, ideal for any winter vacation. With shopping and eateries galore Are is billed as the the Alpine capital of Scandinavia, and is well worth a visit! And Finally – Summertime in Sweden is the most anticipated time of the year! The Midsummer Festival is celebrated throughout the country towards the end of June. You can take a tour around the old town of Stockholm, Gamla Stan and see the Royal Palace or take in a museum.
