Nightlife in Stockholm
Stockholm might not be known for its nightlife – but it should be! With all the myriad festivals and celebrations that the Swedes have we should already know just how much they love a party! From eateries to dancing, events to pubs – Stockholm has it all. And we have a small slice of the action for you, right here!
Nightlife in Stockholm, Sweden
Pubs and Clubs
Backstreet nightclub in Gothenburg is a popular choice in the summertime, with huge parties and plenty of DJ’s. The infamously entitled Hell’s Kitchen is well known in the dance music scene, and sports a futuristic feel you just won’t find anywhere else. If you want a classier feel then you could try up-market club V****** – but you would have to be on the pretty exclusive guest list to get in.
When it comes to bars with a difference, Stockholm has its own fair share. One of the most famous is the Ice Bar, part of the Ice Hotel – but be warned, it’s cold in there! Alegria Tapas bar comes highly rated and provides an alternative dining experience to the norm… but if you want traditional (and particularly if you are only in the city for a weekend) then you should take part in the Stockholm Pub Crawl!
Eating Out
There are literally hundreds of dining opportunities in Stockholm, from after the club snacks to high class restaurants and hotel catering. Surfers is a brilliant Chinese restaurant that comes highly recommended. Publico has slightly more traditional food – but turns into a club after hours – and if you love a good beer hall then Ladan is your place!
Events
Stockholm is a big city, with events running all year long. Every Friday and Saturday night you can find something to do – from food to clubbing. Guest DJ’s regularly appear and Stockholm has a huge music scene that attracts festivals year after year. Music Festivals
As the home of Abba, Stockholm has some brilliant venues. In 2018 alone they are hosting concerts for Metallica, James Blunt and Marilyn Manson. And you don’t get much more diverse than that! The Stockholm Summerburst Festival runs from June 16th to June 16th – but takes place annually and hosts contemporary bands. If your taste is a little more ‘set in the past’ then you might be interested in the annual Stockholm Early Music Festival – the largest northern celebration of its kind. It runs from the 5-10 of June this year.
Before you go booking that trip out to Ibiza or Majorca for your party holiday, why not consider Stockholm instead? It has everything you need and more – and is much better value for money. Not only that, but there is still a whole lot going on during the day time. Therefore, everyone gets to have fun!
