If you happen to be in the Stockholm area then there are a shipload of things you can do – the Vasa Museum being one of the most interesting. This repurposed ship capsized and sank in the harbour in the 17th century, but has been lovingly pulled from the depths and restored to its former glory. This is the world’s only fully restored 16th century warship. Also provides you with a very rare opportunity to actually set foot on one.
About Gamla Stan
Also in Stockholm is Gamla Stan. This is the worlds best preserved medieval city centre that encompasses a wealth of attractions. And leisure activities within its own right. There are shops, museums, tours – and all this within the original area that encompassed the entire city. It’s not just beautiful, it is an are of historic significance and should be visited at all costs.
The Royal Palace and King’s residence in Stockholm is called Drottningholm Palace and you can go there to watch the changing of the guard, walk through the ample gardens or to go for a tour. Also in Stockholm, you can take any number of guided boat or cycle tours in which you can soak up the city and its wholesome, natural vibe. Stromma boat tours are a particularly reliable company that we love.
